By way of nemesis, I had to chair the final “start the week”, but since it was largely depleted, I did manage to close the meeting after 12 minutes, so have achieved something this year!

I’ve found a new way to deal with Monday morning. I drive to Swindon, but leave immediately and catch a train to London – thus missing the “start the week” meeting!

Monday was, for me, that rare thing nowadays – a Monday in Swindon. And to compound the weirdness factor, because both FL and Cyrus were elsewhere, I had to chair the “start the week” meeting!

Although it was Monday, I had a date with the Sheffield University Audit Committee, so I caught a train to Sheffield instead of Swindon – although it’s actually a lot further, it’s almost as quick!

I had a variety of meetings scheduled for London Monday so my plan was always to drive down there and miss the “start the week” meeting. On Sunday, I started receiving what turned out to be the first of a stream of cancellations that ended up with most of Monday being decimated.

It was Monday. FL was in India so Cyrus dispatched the “start the week” meeting with the efficiency of an abattoir worker. Then it was on the TIC Update meeting, with more pleas for guidance from those appointed as gladiators for the forthcoming tournament.

Although it was Monday and I left the house in more or less the direction of Swindon, I didn’t make it to the “start the week” meeting. Instead, I ended up waiting at Pangbourne railway station for Transport Man (who was only a few minutes late)
